Westminster
Presbyterian Women
The women of the church meet every month for a topical Bible
study, prayer, fundraising, outreach, fellowship, and
wonderful food. This lively group of women support the
church in prayer, raise money for mission causes both local
and global, sew “cancer pads” for those in need, and in
general seek to present a strong representation of the
presence and love of Christ to the surrounding culture. The
group also visits local restaurants ever other month through
the “Ladies Eating Out” (LEO) program. For more details,
please speak with Jane Gramley.
Outreach
Westminster has always had a strong presence in the
community, supporting such diverse organizations as the Boy
Scouts, the Girl Scouts, Habitat for Humanity, Cherished
Children Day Care Center, the Warner Robins Soup Kitchen,
Narcotics Anonymous, the Relay for Life Cancer Walk, and the
Operation Christmas Child shoebox program. For information
on any of these ministry opportunities, please speak with
the pastor.
Parish Nurse program
Westminster offers to its members a Parish Nurse program,
which sponsors basic health screening, information, and
comfort to those who may need a listening ear and a calming
influence. Anyone who has a health services background is
welcome to participate in this program. For more details,
please speak with Parish Nurse Lee Brown.
Volunteer Service
A Christian congregation exists through the hard work of
volunteers. Westminster offers many different opportunities
for service to the church, such as Sunday School teacher,
youth advisors, building and grounds upkeep, worship
assistance (ushering, scripture reading, greeting, etc.),
church library work, and Vacation Bible School volunteer.
Your work will be welcomed and appreciated. Speak with the
pastor for more details. |
